Teaching artists are hired on an hourly contractual basis.

Prospective teaching artists commit to teach an initial class, at a rate of $50, in order to determine if the arrangement will be a mutually beneficial match between teaching artists and Main View Gallery & Studio artists and staff.  The initial class rate includes the cost of materials.

Compensation is based on a combination of practical knowledge in a given discipline and teaching experience.  In general, hourly rates are as follows:

Less than 2 years experience= $20/hr.

2-5 years experience = $25-$30/hr.

5+ years experience = $35-$50/hr.
